QUALIFICATIONS
Do you have several years of relevant sales experience, ideally acquired in the Optics industry in the field of contact lenses, glasses, care products, accessories/fittings and vision aids, or in a comparable context? Are you well acquainted with the relevant sales channels, such as glasses specialists, optics chains, ophthalmologists and online retailers, and do their decision makers associate your name with long-term, successful and reliable collaboration? Have you had the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities by motivating, managing and guiding a sales team in another field, and are you now seeking the next logical step in your career development, by taking over overall responsibility for an independent sales company?

THE COMPANY
We are a German sales company headquartered in a vibrant metropolis, and we are a member of an internationally active group that develops and manufactures a broad range of contact lenses and care products at several foreign sites. Our team of highly motivated sales and marketing staff looks after the above sales channels in Germany and Austria. As part of our future growth strategy, we will be seeking to fill the position of Managing Director with focus on Sales and Marketing, and in this context, we are looking for someone with the above mentioned qualifications, who is a salesman/saleswoman to the core, an excellent communicator who is capable of putting across his ideas so as to inspire, motivate and spur on their team.

DUTIES
In this function, you will be primarily responsible for all the market-related aspects of the company, you will be the central contact for our back office staff and will also interface with the Group. As the best salesman in the team, you will look after selected customers yourself, and will manage, motivate and coach our sales team. You will also be responsible for Marketing, Finance and HR, and also for commercial matters. You will collaborate with our production sites, prepare rolling turnover and sales forecasts, analyse budget variances and devise effective countermeasures. You will conduct regular market and competition analyses, attend trade fairs and events, optimise internal processes and structures, and will nurture and consolidate contacts with the relevant information sources and decision makers. As the postholder, you will regularly represent your area of responsibility in English during meetings and presentations, and given the importance of your position, you will report direct to the CEO at headquarters.
